Tarik Saglam

Tarik Saglam is an Assistant at Atasoy Law Firm and third-year Juris Doctor candidate at the University of Ottawa. As a multilingual person who speaks 4 languages, he has particular interest in areas of international law and immigration law. Before starting his legal studies in Ottawa, Tarik graduated from Wuhan University, China in 2020. He also completed a master’s degree in International Relations, highlighting his curiosity in this field.
Over the years, Tarik worked for a variety of organizations as a student and a young professional. He served as the Vice-President of Wuhan University International Students Union where he had the chance to work on contracts with sponsors and partners. These were his first steps in developing some of the most essential legal skills, as it allowed him to manage time and prioritize tasks while working on multiple projects. He was also very passionate about Model UN and served as the Secretary-General of WISMUN for two years. Since 2017, he has taken part in more than 30 MUN conferences in 8 countries as a delegate, chair and organizer.
In 2024, Tarik joined the non-profit organization Northern Justice Watch where he worked as the Program Development Director and developed initiatives aligned with the organization’s mission. He is also an accredited Interpreter by the Immigration and Refugee Board of Canada.
Tarik is currently enrolled in an exchange program at Lund University in Sweden where his studies focus on international law and EU law.
