Homayoun Yazdankia is a Legal Assistant at Atasoy Law Firm. He brings a diverse legal background spanning immigration, litigation, real estate, and legal research.

Homayoun holds an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Justice, Political Philosophy and Law from McMaster University and a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from the University of York in the United Kingdom, where he graduated among the top of his cohort with First Class Honours with Distinction. He is currently pursuing a Global Professional Master of Laws (GPLLM) in Canadian Law at the University of Toronto’s Faculty of Law.

Prior to joining Atasoy Law, Homayoun worked as a Legal Assistant at an Ontario immigration practice, where he prepared and reviewed work permit, permanent residence, and sponsorship applications, managed active immigration files, and served as a primary point of contact for clients and counsel. During his first year of law school, he also worked as a 1L Summer Law Student at an Ontario law firm, gaining experience in residential and commercial real estate transactions, wills and powers of attorney, and criminal litigation.

Homayoun’s academic background includes graduate-level study in Constitutional Law and Jurisprudence at McMaster University. He also served as a Teaching Assistant in McMaster University’s Department of Philosophy, teaching more than 250 students across courses including Philosophy of Law, Logic, and Constitutional Law. His teaching experience involved leading tutorials and office hours, as well as providing detailed feedback on students’ legal analysis and reasoning.

Homayoun is fluent in English and Farsi (Persian). Outside of his legal work, he has a particular passion for football and is an avid follower of football statistics and the game’s history. He is currently working toward obtaining his Ontario Soccer referee certification. He is also a lifelong Manchester United supporter and enjoys competitive chess, futsal, and music production.
